It is brought out for information of all that it is NOT
RECOMMENDED to consume HCQS (Hydroxychloroquine) drug by public for prevention of
Coronavirus infection.
HCQS (Hydroxychloroquine) , which is a derivative of antimalarial drug chloroquine is now
widely thought be a remedy or a game changer in the management of Covid 19 in public
perception.
However, fact is that this drug has no role in prevention of Coronavirus infection, for which
only remedies are as already being emphasised.
If at all, it has any role, it is in Covid 19 patients where it may enhance the response of
supportive treatment. For it also there is not sufficient evidence.
In fact this drug has serious side-effects on the heart .
At the moment this drug cannot be recommended to be consumed by public for prevention of
Coronavirus infection.
